Optimize your project for the Judges - Google Chrome Built-in AI Challenge
The review team and Judges are eagerly awaiting to see what you built! As you continue to work on your project over the next few weeks, keep in mind how the judging process works.
Judging Stage One
Submissions are locked in on December 3, by 11:45 PM PT. Then Stage One of judging commences. The review team at Devpost and Google will review your submission materials to ensure they are complete, eligible and meet a baseline level of viability to move to Stage Two.
At a minimum, this means the submission includes all of the below items:
-
Entrants must develop a web application or Chrome Extension that uses one or more APIs to interact with Chrome’s built-in AI models, such as Gemini Nano. The APIs include but are not limited to the Prompt API for Web and in Chrome Extensions, Summarization API, Write API, and Rewrite API.
-
Demo video - Show how your application(s) work in approximately 3 minutes or less.
-
Access must be provided to an entrant’s working Application for judging and testing by providing a link to a website, functioning demo, or a test build
-
(Optional) Share your feedback on the development process with these APIs. You must have submitted a project to complete a feedback submission form and be eligible for the Most Valuable Feedback Prize.
Note: if you submit your project at least one week before the deadline, the reviewers will try hard to check for baseline eligibility in advance, and you will receive a message if any part of your submission requires revisions. So, submit early to make sure nothing gets in the way of your submission being fully eligible!
Judging Stage Two
The submissions that pass Stage One will then be sent to a Judging Panel! Those judges will review submission materials and score your project according to each of the below judging criteria from 1 to 5 (5 being the best).
-
Functionality
-
How scalable is the application? How well are the APIs used within the project? Can it be used in other regions, or can it be used by more than one type of audience?
-
Purpose
-
Are you solving an existing problem? Is it an application that would encourage a user to use it more than once for its benefits?
-
Content
-
How creative is the application? What’s the visual quality like?
-
User Experience
-
How well executed is the application? Is it easy to use and understand?
-
Technical Execution
-
How well are you showcasing 1 or more of the web APIs powered by AI models built into Google Chrome?
Please note that the judges are not required to download or test your project and will depend heavily on the presentation of your project in action within your video.
Best of luck as you continue to prepare for the judges!
