Is origin trial a requirement?
Since we're still able to use the Gemini Nano APIs locally, and test them on our unpacked extensions, is participation on origin trials a requirement for this hackathon?
I have read that we don't need to publish our extension. A self-explanatory video, documentation and full code is enough for eligibility. If I don't need to publish it, do i need to ask for the "aiLanguageModelOriginTrial" permission and add the token to manifest.json?
Thanks in advance

Hi Tunahan, might be easier to direct this question to our Discord channel. In general, depending on the API, you'll need to either participate in origin trials or the early preview program to get access.

Hi Bradford, I already have access to Summarization API with the early preview program. My question was about the project eligibility. Do I still need to participate in the origin trial in this case?

As long as you're able to showcase what you built with the Summarization API from the Early Preview Program through your video / repo, you don't need to participate in the origin trial.
